Kilkern House is located 5km from the Cathedral town of Rosscarbery and on the other side the
market town of Clonakilty. Rathbarry is located close by, a picturesque village that has won
many environmental awards and has been a winner in the National Tidy Towns competitions.
On the dairy farm guests may watch the cows being milked or may wish to play tennis or may just
relax in the lakeside gardens.
There are many activities in the area including fishing, boating, pitch and putt, horse riding and
touring historical sites. Nearby is the birthplace of General Michael Collins, our national hero.
The coastline is dotted with a host of sandy beaches, some are small sheltered coves while others
are miles long with natural rock pools and fantastic cliff walks. While surfing is the latest leisure
pursuit in the area, a leisurely swim can be enjoyed in some of our local Blue Flag Awarded beaches.
Kilkern House is within driving distance of the Blarney Castle, Clonakilty Railway, Cobh Heritage
Centre, Kinsale, Baltimore, Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.

Comments From Guest
Like a Paradise, we will be back - Belgium
Wonderful views, great hospitality, relaxing holidays, we came for a night and stayed a week -
Ann and Paul London
We come back year after year, we love the walk to the beaches, a different beach every day for
a week, the light house and the country pub with the nightlife - Bernard and Family France
We have a lot of memories of our time in Ireland but the very best was our accommodation at
Kilkern House where we felt at home. I'm missing your delicious breakfasts, the tea you served us
in the garden near the roses, and your living room with the open fire at night. Once again thanks
a lot. We will be back - Renate and Family Germany
